Boo! Happy Halloween!

The boys had a ton of fun trick-or-treating tonight. Because they are both really into pirates right now they started off the evening saying trick-or-treasure, which was very cute. They came home with lots of treasure in their loot bags... Fun night! ;-)

Weathered!

We weathered the storm through the night just fine. Lots of gusts but not much else to speak of...at least, that's all we could tell was happening from the basement. There are significant power outages and road closures all around us so not sure whether we'll get out of the house today. But, as of right now, we have held up well.

Evening Storm Update

We are all set up to sleep in the basement tonight. Charlie has been out for his last walk, hopefully. We even put new batteries in all of our flashlights and lanterns.

It's very windy now. Still raining but no downpours yet. Lights are flickering a little but we still have power!

Afternoon Storm Update

We still have power but the winds are really picking up. It's VERY breezy now with significant gusts swaying large trees. Just about all of the leaves have fallen from the trees. And, the stream behind our neighborhood is full so I'm sure it'll soon overflow. Consistent rain but nothing heavy yet. News of flooding and power outages have started, and most local business have closed (Whole Foods, Starbucks, Tysons, etc.). Will give another update this evening!!!

Frankenstorm

The storm has not gotten that bad yet. Just rain so far and a bit of wind. Things are supposed to deteriorate as the day progresses. So, before the power goes out, I thought I'd take a minute to post a note and link to some new photos and short videos. Enjoy!
